Songs

Our first contribution to the Songs page is a rewrite of Don Mccleans American Pie.

It`s called "Yes we ameri-CAN" and is about the newly elected president of USA, Barack Obama.

A short, short time ago…
I can still remember
How Obama held a speech.
He told the people “yes we can”
We knew right then he was the man
That he could make the people go and vote.
*
But George Bush made me shiver
With every decision he'd deliver.
Bad news always there;
I couldn't take four more year(s).
*
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about this Palin bride,
But something touched me deep inside
It became an easy ride.
*
So bye-bye, mister plumber Joe.
You were brought to the election
But the people said no.
And ‘em good old boys from the republican row
Singin’, "this'll be the day that I lost.
“wonder what our campaign cost."
*
Sarah Palin said you‘re not a patriot,
but she proved she was an idiot
she tried to make a dent
And let this be in the log
Out of this republican fog
Obama came sailing as the new president
*
So bye-bye, mister plumber Joe.
You were brought to the election
But the people said no.
And `em good old boys from the republican row
Singin’, "this'll be the day that I lost.
“wonder what our campaign will cost."
